Description
Located in Malartic, the Mineralogical Museum of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue presents an exhibition on geology and mining projects in the region as well as minerals from around the world. Various interactive games and many other items like an earthquake simulator, fairy stones, a real moon rock and spectacular specimens of gold complete this show for the whole family. This year visitors are invited to discover the different facets of rare earth in addition to experience the world of fluorescent minerals. The museum also features a temporary exhibition, Flowers and Pebbles in collaboration with Mineralogy and Mining Museum of Thetford Mines and the Museum of Nature. Visits to the Canadian Malartic Mine are cancelled for the summer of 2021.
